Welcome Billy!

I am just over in Eastern Grayson Co. and sometimes in Western Fannin Co. As far as Trunking is Concerned for the Paris/Lamar Co. area there is some, but not alot. Southern Oklahoma offers some LTR Systems as well as an EDACS System I can never seem to Monitor, Just hear the Control Channel from time to time.

Aerowaves Communications have some LTR Networks over there. as does Comtex Communications (Licensed out of Waxahatchie-Operated in Dallas) and DCAE (Delta Communications and Electronics) another D/FW LTR Provider. have some sort of System in them part of the woods.

Great to have someone in the Paris Area on Board. Hope you enjoy you're stay here at TRD. Seems to be a nice place.

Thanks MT, I have several monitoring devices here and have been hearing and decoding what seems to be LTR numbers in format of #-##-### (##) with most of the ones I decoce looking like this 0-##-### (--) unless I happen to be listening to a Ham Radio Repeater out put and then all #'s are filled with numeric data.

Also I can monitor what I though was the TXU EDACS frequencies in my hearing range, I think is the Work center located just outside of city limits here..

Good to hear from you and as I gan more experience will pass it on.

Billy,

What scanner are you using that is decoding the LTR the way you describe? Just wondering.

Well, I have been listening for a good many years in and around this county. I use multiple scanning radios and different types of antenna, and as would be expected I get a lot of different results.

Examples, Texas DPS On any base station radio with outside discones / wire antennas I can hear both sides of DPS conversations on 159.210. Once in a vehicle and I move 3 to 5 miles outside city limits of Paris, I can hear on the Sulphur Springs dispatch freq of 155.460 and can only hear the mobiles if I am close to one of them.

EX 2 Medical FREQ.. I have the standard Medical frequencies installed in all radios, and have been hearing for several years, they have dried up for the most part, and very seldom hear, even though they still have medical emergencies every day.

EX 3 I still decode what my software says is LTR (numbers) in the format of #-##-### (##) which some say is an invalid format.

EX4 Just within the last couple of days, I have not heard the DPS until at nighttime usually late, on the 159.210 freq..

I am still trying to figure out what is going on, but suspect might have something to do with Project 25, and new narrower bandwidths coming into play before long.

Well, I'll be dogged.. Looks like some of the local Ham repeaters in this area are (sending / receiving) police transmissions at an "(attempted under the threshold level)" and are generally emitting constand emission, which in turn is apparently doing the same thing as jamming the airwaves... This is an un-confirmed assumption, but it is based on at least 10 YEARS of listening and observing..

Nearby Okie..

Good to find some folks from my area. I live in Idabel, Ok. and visit Paris at least twice a week.

I'm a newbie to serious scanning and a lot of what I'm seeing here is well over my head. Fortunately my goals in scanning are fairly simple (for now). I am a photographer with a particular interest in fire services and I will be using my spankin' new pro-94 to (responsibly) case fires and other emergency calls.

Any local freqs that might be helpful would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gus
