Picked up some sporadic traffic on 152.075 MHz (analog) this afternoon in Wash. Co. The signal was coming in very strong and sounded like operations at a park, lake, or similar (along with possibly some campground hosts). Heard a long data burst before each voice transmission opened up and then a shorter one when the transmission had ended. Didn't get a chance to snag a recording, but searching the FCC database comes up empty for the frequency in both OR and WA, as does the RRDB database.

Examples of traffic heard:
"Hydro Control"
"16, clear"
"1600 to Control"
"C4 to C2, Site 21 is ready to come in... send them on back"
"Check on the USGS guy"
"USGS had some issues with the gate"

Random thoughts based on the above include Hagg Lake or maybe even PGE's Promontory Park on the Clackamas River. Based on the frequency, I don't think it's Federal (such as Bonneville), but utility companies (especially with the "Hydro Control" mentioned) or local gov't. come to mind.

Curious if anyone has heard this one before or has any ideas... thanks!

Sure enough -- thanks for that! Forgot to search for paging licenses on the FCC site.

And being paging licenses, that makes me wonder how they've got their system set up... maybe using store-and-forward for these routine comms.?
