3/17 ~ Around 10:30 MetCom alerted South Metro Firefighters to a brush fire at 11462 Forest Hills Drive. First due Engine 47 reported a vegetation fire burning behind the address in the gully. Several companies began direct mobile attack and structure protection was placed at the homes surrounding the fire. BC41 assumed command, reported a one acre brush fire spreading with a 10-15 mph southwest wind behind it. The fire was broken into three divisions and contained from each side of the gully. Because of the remote location and Red Flag Warning, a 2nd Alarm was requested bringing mutual aid from Aurora, Cunningham and Franktown. The fire was placed under control with 100% containment within 90 minutes and no structures were damaged and no injuries reported.
