While I’m not in that county, and can’t monitor it from home, I suspect those are ‘dispatch’ channels used for smaller towns in the northern part of the county. The S. O. handles radio dispatch for towns without their own dedicated dispatcher. Similarly you have “S1” and “S 2”, likely for small communities in the southern part of the county.
Just checked on bordcastify, and there was some radio traffic for DPS, Aledo, and Reno. Figured they got rid of the “small” communities” (Hudson Oaks, Willow Park, Aledo) channels and merged into PCSO now that PCSO has more than 1 dispatch channel. I guess I’ll program them later and see what I can hear. You’d think they would’ve went encrypted too since all other law enforcement channels did, with the exception on Reno 🤷♂️
We need to choose one entry for that 40205 talkgroup. I'm inclined to keep the PD N1 and delete the Reno entry from the DB. Thoughts from those of you who monitor the PC stuff regularly?
I say do that. That seems more reasonable considering that not only Reno operates on that channel, so it seems
Next time I go visit my friend in Stephens County, I'll take my TRX-1, and let it record activity on all Parker County related TGIDs. That, of course, won't let me actually hear what's being said on the "E" tagged TGIDs. but at least I could confirm if they were actually being used. I always take my SDS100 and at least one of the 436HPs, but of course. they simply skip over encryption. I can hear the Parker County system when out there, despite the range. Her place is on, basically, a plateau about 500 feet higher than Weatherford.
I would think that the county S.O would have a unencrypted mutual aid channel for DPS , and outside agencies to contact the dispatcher , trying to get an I/O channel takes time but I guess it could be what they are doing
