Hello all,

Does anyone know the correct Monterrey County Sheriff channel/frequency for the Parkfield area? This seems like a really remote location in the county. Is it part of the King City area? Seems like a long distance for the Deputies to have to travel.

Also, what hilltop site is the repeater located for this area of the county?

Thanks.

Williams Hill is in southern Monterey County and has a good view of Parkfield.

Hi Shawn,

Drilling down into the database, I see WQSD536 has a site "5 miles E of Parkfield" on 154.025. I can here it over here in Sanger. 155.73 comes in even better.

I can't imagine a Deputy having to respond from King City to Parkfield.
Wonder if Parkfield has a donut shop.
Heh!

I've spent some time down that way and it's rare to see any law enforcement. When I did, it was often BLM rangers, CHP, etc.

I've heard they have a really good burger place.

A really good cheeseburger CAN be a direct replacement for a glazed twist...but only on VHF !

Hey Shane,

I'll have to stay off the internet late at night, I didn't even notice it was you inquiring.

Amen to the donuts and burgers though.

That other site is owned by American Tower, but looking at GE it seems there are two sites next to one another.

Sounds like CHP is probably carrying a lot of load for MSO in the King City region, and a lot of so emergent calls are getting kissed off. This area is too remote to pull units from elsewhere for most calls when these tjhree deps are off-duty/on call?

Obviously there is little if any time to be pro-active.

Good area to start a gun store I bet?
