Okay just heard Parma Hts on the Brooklyn 529 group.
Who knows I guess I just missed some of the calls due to other traffic and also attended the Cleveland Hamfest today and didn't walk around with the scanner.

Thanks to all who replied.

Parma P25 Down

The Parma P25 system appears to be down. I've been monitoring Parma for the last 15 plus minutes and no (audio) traffic.

Both of my scanners show a control channel carrier, 5 bars on the S meter. I see an occasional Key up with a TG, but no audio comes through.
On my GRE-500 it shows VC (analog) instead of DG (digital).
My Uniden 436 just quickly displays Unknown. The Alert and Backlight doesn't come on.

Parma P25 Update

Now hearing occasional tests and other intermittent traffic on Parma P25. Sometimes the audio holds for the complete transmission, other times it cuts in and out.

I guess they are making progress. But the system is still for all purposes, down.

As Dave has stated the Parma system is not the best at times.
It was down the other day and that's when we all heard traffic on the Greater Cleveland system.
After the outage the day when Parma came back up lots of new radio ID's popped up.
Good thing they all have backup channels to use.

Parma FD back on P25

AT 1:30 the Parma FD returned to the P25 system. At 1:35 Parma PD Dispatch reported the Main Band is now working. Both departments are doing a roll call/check in with field units.

Note: my scanners are showing traffic. But both scanners are showing frequent audio drop outs. The GRE 500 shows the Digital/Analog indicator switching back and forth between DG and VC.

Just heard multiple dispatches to all units go back to TAC1. All Parma units go back to EDACS.

I wonder if this issue is affecting the Ottawa County P25 site. I am not close enough to monitor.


Edit: Nevermind, I just listened to the Ottawa County feed and it appears to be working fine.

I was wondering the same thing. Also thinking about what this means for Medina going forward.

5 minutes ago I heard a tech say it looks like it's fixed. My radio did not agree with his assessment. The DG/VC indicator was still flip flopping back and forth (audio cutting in and out).

Now I'm hearing users moving back to main band. I'm still seeing the audio cutting in and out (DG/VC flip flop).

I don't know what the tech thought he saw, on my end (2 scanners) it's not fixed.

And Medina County is going to have one built based on the same setup and platform as Parma's?

I hope they do their research before wasting all those tax dollars on a crappy system.

I DO remember Cleveland Communications won the bid for Medina so why not have 3 bad Systems lol
