Both the School buses and Public Transportation buses are on the P25 system , their talkgroups are encrypted there as well. Not sure why they are still multicasting both users on the EDACS system. Maybe both agencies are not fully transitioned to P25 yet? Both have been on P25 for a while now and are in the 5000 range there.

Well, that's probably it I heard chatter on there a week or two ago. May be keeping it for a backup for the P2 system? Who knows i'm sick of the politics there's no reason to encrypt the FD Period!

Anything passed over the radio is public information, available through FOIA, encryption is just a way to be in control.
Is anyone having an issue picking up 12-052 on EDACS? All morning now I have not been able to pick it up on both my handheld and my BCT15X, usually it’s perfect connection and crystal clear audio, this morning, nothing. I haven’t been able to pick up a single call.. Even went around my neighborhood with my handheld and didn’t establish a connection.

They must have turned the power down on the EDACS system within the last year or so because I haven't heard them from my spot in Hillsborough in eons and even getting a transmission in Wesley Chapel was spotty on my SDS100.
I’m hoping that it’s just the third site is temporary down with issues or something and nothing more then that, I know someone over near the second site and they are picking up EDACS like normal. Hudson to Holiday isn’t picking up a thing from what I tested today.
Update: it’s back up!

Anyone having a hard time picking up EDACS on the west side today? I can barely get it now. Maybe they are doing maintenance on a tower or something. Hopefully it’s temporary.
YES, it appears the Westside transmitter is down. I have an outside antenna I can barley pick it up been like that for several days!
I haven’t picked up a single call here in Holiday since June 22.

Well it does not appear that the automated dispatch is on the P25 system. I’m am seeing no transmissions simultaneously on the P25 system when the automated dispatches go out over EDACS… interesting!

@Ryanwatern you have any contacts at the County to see why the west tower seems to be down ?
Sadly I do not, what I do know is that fire rescue has no issues picking up the dispatch on their actual radios and public transportation isn’t having an issue either and both of those are not on P25 so I’m lost there. Public transportation will be switching to P25 though in 2025 that I do confidently know.
Got approved 2 days ago, and they will be on full-time encryption as well.

They already have talkgroups on P25 In the 5000 range they are using now. The traffic is being multicasted on both systems. So guess they are just getting newer radios with encryption options.

I don’t understand this , it appears that they are turning the west side EDACS tower on and off. One day 5 bars and clear signal. The next day unable to pick up the system very well. This is very strange.
I have notice the same thing, for about two weeks I had really good connection, and now I’m back to “finding control channel”.
