Been reading on the Herald Newspaper site and seeing on 1stResponder that Paterson has been seeing a rash of major fires as of late. Noticed that there are many more cases of Mutual Aid responding to these fires to help as well. These units are responding on 2nd alarm calls instead of 3rd and 4th alarm calls when I worked there as a dispatcher years ago(7). What are the total number of Engines and Trucks these days ? Last I remember they were at 7 Engines and 3 Ladders.

Paterson still operates 7 engines 3 ladders, and rescue is full time now. They call mutual aid to provide station coverage. Its not till the third or fourth alarm that the chief calls mutual aid units to the scene. Apparently they have someone starting fires in Paterson again..

Apparently so. The Grand and Spruce fire would be the 2nd in that area in such a short period of time. By any chance would this be Marty Pelta I am talking to ?

Mutual aid calls

Of late, Paterson is requesting more mutual aid (as cover) with any major fire. I can tell you that Elmwood Park's Co#4 gets called out quite often.
