small article in the bergen record today about paterson getting $ 466,000 grant money to purchase 211 radios for what sounds like interoperability. story went on to say that digital radios will help communicate with neighboring towns. I wonder what kind of digital radio will help with that, SPEN is analog and really the best coordinated interoperability NJ has right now. sounds like just more tax money being shoveled at a real non-problem. they used the old line about during the trade center attack that nobodys radios could talk to each other. at least they did'nt fall for the ACU or ICRI magic boxes.
