Pathetic Install in a Honda Civic

Well there it is. This is the most current photo of what I have put in my poor car.

The CB is a recent install, I purchased it so I could use it while driving across the country to Colorado and decided to keep it in there for the weather alert feature. Before the CB was there I had a BC245XLT where the CB mic is velcro'ed. Where the actual CB is, was a set of switches to control the LED slimlighters for the deck and dash (they got removed when I left my job) and an amplified mobile speaker for the BC245 (one of those 7.5 watt jobs from radio shack). But alas, I only have one digital capeable scanner as of now (PRO-96) and wish to keep that one as a portable instead of velcroing it to my car. Usually it accompanies me by being belt clipped to the visor. The BC245 fell out of usefullness when I moved to Colorado, where everything is on the state's digital trunk system. So there it is. The Civic will definately never be pressed into service as a government service vehicle, it lacks the cabin space. On the upside it gets great mileage, I havn't visited a gas station since last month.

Looks good. I've a Honda Accord, and I just think Honda isn't very scanner/radio friendly. It is always hard to decide where to put something without it causing leg room problems for myself or the passenger.

thanks! yes, that seems to be the major problem. I love my car, there just isnt much space or mounting options for the mass of radio equipment I had envisioned in it. The fact that the stick is in the perfect place for a console also cuts down on some of the options too...

All that desciption failed to mention the nice MTVA you have to the right of your console!

Oops. I got so busy explaining what was on the left side of the car I forgot about the right. As i'm sure youve noticed thats an MTVA for the "jedi" series of radios (HT1000, MTS, JT ect.). It uses the basic logic unit which is under the passenger seat and has the 12 watt amplified speaker mounted to the floor under the dash (very, very loud). You cant see either of these items from the angle of the picture (sorry). The MTVA mic is one of the compact ones to cut down on clutter. Unfortunately, the mic has a busted PTT and I cant seem to locate either of the two spares I had since I moved. I'm positive that they are around here somewhere, theres just so...many...boxes...ugh. I love my MTVA, my passengers usually arent as thrilled as I am though..."hey, what the heck is that thing? Is that for some sort of huge cell phone?" The MTVA will probably be removed as soon as I can bring myself to do it. I don't really use it all that much anymore since I moved. I used to use it for work because I got tired of sitting on my HT1000 and missing all the messages coming through. It was either that or I would set it on my passenger seat and then when I would come to an abrupt stop it would fly off into the dash and make angry noises at me. I finally decided to buy my own MTVA (since the county wouldnt give me one of theirs) and have been extremely happy with it. As of now its just eye candy though... I was thinking of maybe doing MURS with it or maybe swapping the antenna out for UHF and going with GMRS. But that project will have to wait, my next purchase will be the BC396D! All the cords for everything in my car have been run either under the floor mats or in the plastic cabin lining to give it a cleaner look.
