Payne County 154.845

Yesterday I was north on OKC on I-35 around the Cimarron Turnpike exit. I heard some traffic on 154.845MHz, regarding the storms moving south from Kansas. They surmised they would move into the Glencoe area in a couple of hours. It was definitely a repeater.

I looked up in th FCC database and Payne County does indeed have a license (WPSZ314) for a repeater on 154.845MHz, located in Cushing. Anyone have any idea who these fine folks might be?

That would be Payne County District 1. The county has three districts, each with an elected commissioner. District 1 is Cushing, Bill Deering, commissioner.

I need to get the rest of the county and city stuff submitted, I turned in the first batch of LEO/FD/EMA when RR.com first came up, and haven't gotten around to the low priority stuff, sorry.

Is 154.845 back up to 155.535,which is the Payne County SO dispatch
frequency?
Just curious but will give it a listen when I'm near Stillwater sometime.

No, generally when the county has problems with mobiles or HTs hitting the repeater, they'll switch to Mutual Aid (155.490 MHz). 154.845 is used by county workers doing whatever they do, grading county roads, etc. I've not bothered to listen to it, it's in a bank along with other utility-type freqs that I turn on when we have bad storms that affect the service infrastructure. This is the bank that has things like the city utilitiy and street department, the rural electric coops, state highway dept, and the like. Just out of curiosity, I turned it on today, and never did hear anything on it. That's not to say that the SO hasn't used it when trying to conduct activities with a low profile.

FYI, I just learded that the District 1 tower came down in the high winds last week, so this freq. won't be active for awhile.
