What gives, after about 15 mins using either the out of the box software this little black box will turn off my laptop. Could this be do to the EEPROM issue? This hasn't always been the case. Have only ran TalkPCR and IC-PCR1000....any guesses?

Odd behaviour. Not much to go on.The first thing I would do is try it (receiver/software) on another computer. If you're running XP 0r 2000 you should get an event listing in Administrative services. That will help narrow the cause of shutdown.Normally a software/hardware conflict will shut the computer down, or reboot it soon after startup, not after 15 mins.I would also look for a computer overheating issue.Spyware & viruses can also cause system shutdowns.

are you sure its not the laptop battery saver turning it off. It is common for this to occur after 15 mintues of no activity. Just sitting with no key strokes could make the computer go to sleep.

n4voxgill:
The fans turn off so that would rule out the poss. of the machine switching to power saving mode.

Merv:
Heating was my initial guess as well, granted the box "laptop" is a tad warm yet its location is climate controlled.....also three fans are under
neath the box to defer the heat. But your corruption theory may be on
head on.

Has anyone experienced such issues? OR a eeprom corruption situation?
