PCR-1500 Revisited!

I bought back my PCR-1500 I sold sometime ago. What have I been missing? Any new updates, tricks, tips, etc?

I'd also be interested in knowing what RR members have a PCR-1500?

I have one and I really like it. The only complaint that I have is how Icom blocks out the 800MHz freqs that arent even part of cell band. I use it as my primary RX.

It now works (though not without some quirks) with TalkPCR 3.0 Beta.

I just wish it would work with Ham radio deluxe

Anyone using TrunkPCR with the PCR-1500? It seems like a natural considering it can directly download/import from RR's Database.

The PCR-1500 has a "Packet" output jack. It's my understanding that is not the same as a discriminator tap. What can it be used for?

That should be the same as a discriminator tap. It is with the 2500 and was with the 1000.

The packet jack on the back of the 1500 can be used with TrunkPCR to monitor trunked systems just like the discriminator output the 100 had to be modified to provide.

If you haven't gone to the ICOM site and updated your firmware and software yet, you should.

I did update the firmware when I first received it, to v 2.00. Is that still the latest?
