• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hello all

over the years I have had dozens of PD7 radios which for no apparent reason will not boot
will not program and will not work.

All voltages are good so the radio is basically a BRICK :-(

However.......

the green LED is constant as opposed to the flashing sequence at switch on
and the unit can be put successfully into Flash mode and upgraded.

When upgrade is finished the radio returns to being a BRICK .........

so far no one has been able to cast light on this phenomenon and the FPR costs from Hytera
are making them less than economic to maintain.

So.......

any ideas will be gratefully accepted

thanks in advance

I bet these are PD705LT's with V5 Firmware... There seems to be a RCDB File curruption in this firmware.

You need DMR FlashBurn V5.00.01.003. And read the RCDB file from a PD705 lite with the right freq band with the radio in Firmware Mode it will then save the file as .DAT file. Open the file in hex editor change serial number to the one with the green light stuck on. save the modded file as <file name>.bin.. then Put Brick Radio Into Firmware mode run up flash burn click the folder icon next to RCDB and select the modded file. tick the box next to RCDB. click menu and erase the RCDB data. Will say done and reset radio. Turn radio Off and on back into FIRMWARE mode then click burn. Will then burn RCDB data back to radio... If all goes well radio mended... DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT ABOUT IT!!! Can Brick a radio for good and even H****a cannot fix them... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....

And as I think I know you I will give you a ring about this..... I did not know you was having probs with the green LED always on...
