• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am at a loss on this. I have multiple PD782s, Anytone, Radioddity, Maxon radios along with about 6 Pi-Star DMR hotspots. Im doing some testing. I have one PD782 that will not talk to any hotspots no matter the frequency. All the other radios will work with all the hotspots except one PD782. I am at a total loss. I can clone the radio to this one and it still doesn't work though it will talk normal radio to radio. I can put the radioddity in VDX mode and see the PD782 talking but the hotspot never receives from this one radio? I don't even see how it is possible as it will talk fine radio to radio but no hotspot. I have tried resetting the PD782 to factory defaults nothing I do will get this one particular radio to talk to any hotspot on any frequency. Is is something stupid im overlooking? All the firmwares on the radios are the same. Every conceivable setting is identical but this one radio will not work with a hotspot. Even tried putting the hotspot into public mode.

What is the Live Logs function in the Pi-Star software showing you when you compare successful transmissions from say, the AnyTone radios vs Hytera?

HI, just a thought. When I had my PD782 a few years ago, I had the same issue with my cheap Jumbospot not receiving transmissions from the Hytera. I had to play with the RX offset in Pi-Star under Configuration/Expert/MMDVMHost. I'm not sure what board you are running on top of the Raspberry-Pi but if it is one those Chinese boards then I would take a look at that. It may not be your issue but it's worth checking.
