• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I just acquired a PDC760. I have some questions about programming:

First of all, I am trying to program multiple DMR-MARC and Brandmeister repeaters.

1) How do I set the radio ID? I can't seem to figure out where to set the ID number that appears on the repeater.
2) Is there a way to add multiple conventional DMR channels with the same talkgroups/channel names but different frequencies to the digital channel list without it saying that it is a duplicate channel name? I would prefer not to have cumbersome channel names (i.e. Texas Statewide for both as opposed to College Station DMR-MARC Texas Statewide and College Station Brandmeister Texas Statewide).

I think you want conventional / general / digital / dial rule / radio ID.
I do not have any MARC or Brandmeister knowledge but the CPS will allow a mixture of upper and lower case so maybe TX statewide, TX Statewide and TX.Statewide would work.

Thanks. I have two other questions:
How do you disable the beeping and vibrating the radio does every time a DMR channel keys up?
Is there a way to make the main screen turn on whenever there is a transmission?

Sorry for the delay but my wife had a hot flash so I went to the basement to hide.
Then I remembered we live on a slab foundation so I had to dig like crazy...

My radio chirps on RX but does not vibrate.
Common / UI indication / vibration has vibrate on silent and ring options.

I do not see a way for the droid screen to light up on radio RX, it's like the broadband side is isolated from the 2 way side.

Ok, got it. I did manage to disable the vibrate feature that activates whenever DMR traffic is picked up. As for everything else, I'm pretty much satisfied with how I've set it up. One other question: Is there a way to get the Google Play store on this?

I tried but got a bunch of other crap popping up and gave up. The screen looks different from my phone and now the phones wants me to sign in using biometrics so I put it down until I have to to fart around with it.
