You are too far away to hear the Peace Bridge, most likely a Local user on DNET-25 or DTAC-06
going out on a limb, VHF was open this am, here in New England and suggest this maybe
Trumbull CT, Orleans MA, Worcester MA as I know of no NYC/LI/NJ Area users on DNET-25 (been wrong before)

Hi Marcy, I've been picking up Coast Guard stations from quite a distance today just south of Trenton, New Jersey..
I was assigned to the Buffalo- Niagara Falls area in the mid-80s on my job for about 6 months and used the bridge often, it is a major border crossing with usually considerable waiting times going through customs.
Honestly I can't think of any other place where that particular frequency would be used considering that you are on the East End of Long Island on the North Shore. Maybe some ports in New York City, New Jersey area?
Interesting, that would be quite a distance, anywhere near the Canadian border. I've seen stranger things.

I would think so unless someone has picked this up closer to you, with the same nac. We Have rain all day down in this neck of the woods and other areas are experiencing other bad weather, Mabe propagations is good for skip down your way. I have from time to time picked up California police down in Fort Erie Ont. in the 38-39 MHz when the skip is coming in. Strange things happen in the radio bands VHF-UHF and HF if conditions are right.

Marcy, based on the APRS map, it was going North/Northeast and South/Southwest - so unless Saint is also seeing 525xxxx RID's, I doubt it.
DNET 25 is a rare Repeater to be hearing, as it is not established in many Areas, most are DNET 01, 02 and the 25's I listed are the nearest to your monitoring... (again, been wrong before)

Question is did you see more than one 525RID .... if not perhaps an air unit on that frequency ?
I looked at some old notes and it shows as
165.4875 with input as 166.5625 New York A-05 CBP

Sorry I have not listened to 165.4875 for a long time, I don't remember the rids on the frequency. this is who is on this frequency,

But isn't 165.4875 as an input, using $325 ??? Last notes on my end for that Freq/NAC ($325) are from 2009
as CBP tended to use $301 Output and $325 input

My notes are "old" so your data is from the digital age where mine was analog. 165.4875 was PL 100.0 So you can see the age of the data.
