To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Pearce Simpson Mic Wiring Help
I have a Simba Pearce Simpson Radio and a Pearce simpson mic. The mic does not have the 3 pin plug like the radio has. How do I wire this 3 pin plug that I bought to go on the mic correctly to the radio. Any help would be great. Thanks Ron

A 3-pin mic connector means that one wire is PTT, one wire is audio, and the last wire is ground. You need an ohmmeter to determine which wire is which. You may have to get some help if this is beyond your expertise.

I Have the ohm meter now if you could share the secret of how to test you will have solved the problem. I know the shield so now its finding out which is audio and which is PTT. What would be the easiest way to do this? Thanks Ron

With the shield (ground) known all you have to do is turn the rig on and using a short piece of wire short the ground to the other two each in turn. The one that keys the transmitter is PTT, the other is audio.

I think your saying is to hook the shield on the mic up to the plug socket on the radio thats also ground Pin 2, maybe with a jumper wire and turn the radio on. Than are you saying touch each of the other two plug wires to the jumper and see what keys the transmitter? Having trouble visualizing what your saying.
Thanks Ron

Looks like you've spent some time this afternoon posting this question on several forums...The guys on World Wide even posted pictures to help you wire this mic. It should be working by now.
