We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

You can usually find a nice B7 (full keypad and display) MTX8000 or MTX838 for around 200-300 on eBay. You can make these suckers do 255 channels, as with an XTS3000. For a mobile, you can get a Motorola Spectra, GTX or a Maxtrac, but you will only have channel names on the Spectra.
