Anyone know whether Peel PD uses headsets in their comm center? I'd say 99% of their dispatchers are quiet...they sound like they are standing feet away from the mic. I'd assume that the officers crank their radios to hear dispatch and end up getting blasted when another officer speaks at normal volume. Heck, Peel Police is obnoxious enough to listen to let alone issues with their volume!

I was down in the Peel area yesterday and had no problems hearing dispatch or the officers.

Close to Toronto ON.
I know what you mean about the inconsistent volume of there dispatch, I notice it more at night when my volume is turned down. One second your struggling to hear dispatch then the officer come screaming in 10-4!

But then again Mississauga/Brampton fire kicks in and they're always loud lol

Okay, so its not just me going nuts!

I'm not really sure whether the headsets just aren't adjusted properly or whether its just the model of headsets they are using. Indeed annoying when a PRP dispatcher is near silent and then a fire dispatcher is insanely loud!

Perhaps my AGC settings are adjusted better to compensate for the difference in volume levels.

I'll have to pay better attention next time I'm listening.

One reason could be, Fire is usually in noisy environments where PRP is in the the car? They all have the same head gear but i think it could be that, but I have heard that and could also be based on the person if their soft spoken or loud... I don't notice it but then again i listen to them on Moto's not Unidens or RS Scanners....

Call them and ask. I"m sure they'd be more than happy to tell you. :)
