It seems since the NEW peel fire feed was online the scanner has been doing something really weird. A tranmission will start out analog in transmission an then it goes half way through the transmission? weird?

I mean it goes digital halfway through the transmission and there's very low sound

Must have something to do with the radio BCT15X as i don't hear that on my Motorola's...

I've never listened to the feed. It could be that it is receiving a poor signal, which "breaks up" to the point where it stops being able to be converted to voice.

I don't have a BCT15X, but if it has the option to force reception of a talkgroup to "digital only" vs "all" or "analog only", the feeder might want to try that.

As for low volume, that could be anything from mixed-up AGC settings to simply having the volume knob on the scanner (or the line input on the feeding PC) turned too far down. Might be worth clicking the "report a problem with this feed" link.

I suggest you listen to the feed before commenting IMHO, Think its fixed now...:roll:

Is archiving disabled on purpose, or is there a problem with the stream that means that the system can't archive it?

Chances are archiving is disabled on purpose. Many Canadian providers asked that archiving be disabled after Canadian media released the audio of a dying police officer's radio transmissions http://www.torontosun.com/2011/06/28/dramatic-transcript-of-officers-last-call.

I noticed on the bottom of the feed description page it says Archiving is disabled...

It didn't say that last night. I didn't realize the policies had been changed again to allow new feeds to have archives disabled. I was just wondering since sometimes something like an improper bitrate can mess with the archives.
