Recently someone submitted a new system for Pekin, IL and after it had been posted in the database another person submitted additional data for this system. The two people who submitted the information did not bother to leave an email address. so we could not contact them to query the submissions. Tazwell County does have a system and this system is in the database. The second submitter merely repeated information about the Tazewell County system.

The problem with this is that, other than the word of two unidentified submitters, no evidence can be found that the the system exists as described. The frequencies which were submitted, after a careful check with the FCC database, belong for the most part to Nextel. One frequency which was submitted (867.8125) does not even exist (in Tazwell County) under any license. As a result, the entire system has been removed.

Submitters must realize that if you don't provide an email address with your submissions, the administrators may just ignore your submission, or at least work on it last. Your address is not revealed to the general population, it is only available to the administrators. If you wish to remain anonymous, then check the box indicating that on your submission and even your name (or nickname) will not be published.

If either of the two submitters (and you know who you are) want to resubmit data on a new system in Pekin, IL; please do so, but this time lets get a little more information (like license) and also don't hide, provide a way of contacting you.

I put inDatabase about Prison beening Tazewell County. I live about 1/4 mile away sorry Newbie. I also put in Pekin more IDs but did not put in any Frequencys.

Thanks to all for submitting freqs for tazewell county/ pekin il and the prison ones also, you must lock and unlock 1 channel every 24 hrs for the prison they seem to switch the control channel every 24 hrs.
Also all peoria county / peoria city freqs appreciated also.

I live just south of the prison also listening on myold pro 92 trunk tracker, radio shack unit with an external scanmaster antenna.

Tazewell County frequencys

The system that Pekin and the tazewell county sheriff uses is the EDACS mode I have no trouble hearing them on my Pro-92 and 95. I go to the Radio Shack in Pekin periodically and have them clone the frequencys into the radios..

I posted a reply to slickdick's post of "try this" and it looks like I did it wrong or something. It looks like it just posted his again. Anyway here goes again:

I have been using this format for the Tazewell/Pekin EDACS since it has been in use with a few slight changes.


WHOI Tower
1. 853.3875 (data channel changed from #2 needs to be on Ch#1)

I know it looks different from most of the EDACS LCN numbers, but it works, trust me.

also...to get the follow me roaming on the towers you need to put the data channel for those towers in number one, of whatever bank you are in.

Delavan Tower

1. 858.2625 data channel

Washington Tower

Mackinaw Tower
1. 855.9625 (data and voice)

The Mackinaw Tower is voice and data, and you can her voice, but the data cannot be tuned out on a simple EDAC scanner.

let me know if this is a conflict with what you guys have working on the Mackinaw Tower or if anyone is able to get it to work.
