I think I may have found an unlicensed repeater being used by the
Pend Oreille county fire rescue service. The output is 158.7500
and I have not found the input yet.
I checked the FCC database and nothing was shown for the
158.75 frequency or the 12.5 channels to either side except for
158.7525 in an adjacent county further away from my location
and which appeared to be licensed as an input or simplex anyway.
No CTCSS/DCS was recieved on rptr output either.

Steve,

158.750 would not be a correct channel split for that band. The sequence would be 158.730, 158.745, 158.760 and 158.775. The new Narrowband spacing for VHF is 7.5 khz splits instead of the old 15 khz creating the channels of 158.7375, 158.7525, 158.7675. 12.5 khz spacing is the new split utilized in the UHF band down from 25 khz and they are starting to use 6.25 in the 800 mhz band.

I'm guessing you were referring to the Colville Tribes being on 158.7525. Also look at The City of Colville on 158.7450 and Spokane County FD 4 (should be in your neighborhood) on 158.7675. According to the FCC DB, It appears to be Simplex using 50 or 60W but there is no telling what they may have done and it hasn't been updated in the Commission system.

Initially found nothing also in the FCC GenMen. Did a nationwide wildcard search with the frequency, and pend in the licensee box and up it popped.Zip code for Newport is wrong should be 99156- 98156 seems to be a bad zip code:

The repeater I posted seems to have the same signal strength as the 155.3100 Pend Oreille sheriffs
repeater and it sounded like the same dispatcher and the incident was in PO county so it is deffinatly
a PO county asset.

Chuck, yeah the 158.7675 is currently the output to the spokane co fire dist 4 tactical repeater with
the input on 155.4150. Dist 4 has had a fire tactial repeater on and off for at least the last decade.
the old output used to be on 154.1450 but now that is thier simplex fireground and an input to Orange
tactical. Humm I must have missed the difference in the new spacing VHF Vs UHF I was under the
impression that all government was going to 12.5 on vhf and uhf then in the next ten years to 6.25 khz
on both bands.

Mike I looked at the page of the callsign you posted and did not see the 158.7500 or 7525, nothing
above the 156 freq on the seccond page. That is funny the zip code is wrong.

Hmmmm, interesting database that GenMen, I had alot of trouble finding it again this time whereas last nite it was much simpler and now it shows deleted? Something is afoot in that database.

It appears here on page two in WPKQ914.

Current information seems that 158.7525 was deleted in from the application in favor of 154.8225 on 4/11/07......

You had me second guessing meself for a second.

Regardless, it shows deleted therefore unlicensed, whoops.

Scandalous :p
Yeah I am still not seeing it but I will take your word about the app change.
I did hear the 154.0325 repeater with analog voice with the dispatcher
canceling the newport ambulance for a MVA.
On an unlrelated note, Mike not sure if you scan Post Falls PD but there tactical
channel 453.925 rptr is now operating in full time astro digital.
