Philly trucks had private UHF DMR trunking encrypted radios for talk around for employees of the contractor before the state had issued the vp900 portables for the state system you can now mostly find them on Tow 6 in around the districtAt least in the Philadelphia area Freeway trucks do have Cb radios each region is separate they aren’t state owned vehicles they are owned by contracted tow companies. As for troopers I know motor carrier enforcement guys in my area have them and I have seen a trooper car or two with them.
I’m well aware thanks.Philly trucks had private UHF DMR trunking encrypted radios for talk around for employees of the contractor before the state had issued the vp900 portables for the state system you can now mostly find them on Tow 6 in around the district

The Motorola Sl7000 is popular it looks like a smart phone also a few companies use the new Nextel lte system. The days of everyone using the ltr systems like the sunshine system are pretty much done.I know some of the private tows rent airspace on a dmr system I've seen some carrying a variety of xpr portables, But most probably use phones.
