Peoria and Peoria Heights

Have an old BCD396xt and it seems everything went to Starcom 21. Looking to see what you folks around my area suggest for a new scanner. Dont remember if this old one does starcom. It worked about 1/2 the time on simulcast even with outside directional TERRAWAVE 806-960 MHz 10 dBi Yagi Antenna. Base or portable scanner however I would like the best for now and future if possible. Also guess I was lucky just to remember how to turn on the old one. Appreciate any feed back!

There are basically only 2 options for great simulcast performance...the Uniden SDS 100 (portable)/SDS 200 (base), or a Unication pager (G4 or G5 model). Take a look at those.

BTW, Peoria Heights PD is being dispatched on Peoria PD's talkgroup now.

Thanks, Yes Heights and Chillicothe were on Prep2 for Peoria but went quiet. Not sure about a site change to 249 or what that means. Guess I need to change something.

all of Peoria Co is on STARCOM 21/ PEORIA CO SIMULCAST (new) CHANNELS
TALK GROUP IS PEORIA CO TALKGROUP
Chillicothe had their own TGID then started sharing a channel with Peoria Heights
now they can be heard sharing TG-ID 6701 with Peoria Co Sheriff 1

Peoria Heights is on TG-ID 6652

I too love the SDS100 ( portable ) & SDS200 (base/mobile )
both scanners "hear" great and are so easy to program.

I only listened to Peo Hgts when Chilli & them shared the same channel.
Did they move, when Chillicothe moved to Peoria Co SD (6701) ?
any idea who is now using TG 6652

took a listen to 6651 & 6652. there is traffic on both talk groups and both sound like Peoria City cars

Peoria city is referring to 6652 as: Channel 2

On 6651 I do not hear anyone referring to " Peoria Heights Cars"
as was the case when Chillicothe & Peoria Heights shared the same TG-ID

can you remember what the Heights calls their cars ?

Now that Heights is on Prep 1 you will hear them identify as "Heights 916" for example.

Just remember, It's the Heights and they usually only have 2 cars on duty at any one time and they don't get many calls. ha ha

Where are all the talk groups located, found a bunch for peoria county but believe there may be more. Until I re program the scanner at least the ID search picks them up

If you go to Village of Peoria Heights webpage, under government, police dept, it list the numbers and the officer associated with that number

Well the software or cable would not work with windows 10, so I had to program manualy. But its working now!

Ok Peoria Heights went Phase 1 25 a while back and so did peoria however Peoria dispatch was also still on analog. Peoris now for Prep 1 is 6651, Guess (Starcom) and now Peoria Heights PD is also on 6651. Will Peoria Heights also come over analog like Peoria does?

Yes, the old analog prep 1 (460.050) is a simulcast of StarCom 6651, so you will now hear the Heights on the old prep 1.

UPDATE: Received new ScannerMaster cable and now it works perfectly between Windows 10 and BCD396XT. Bonus now to set my sights on that new Sds 200! Life is Good
