Anyone know which VHF frequencies the Peoria AZ FD use? Think one is 154.31 not sure. Are Peoria FD calls dispatched on VHF?
Phoenix does the dispatching for all the valley fire departments except Mesa. Yes, They still dispatch on VHF 154.190. (The dispatches are also patched into the digital trunked system.) Years ago 154.310 was the Glendale Fire Department frequency and was channel 6 in the Phoenix system. Today it's known as A6 (Analog channel 6). It's no longer used for just Glendale but is considered the NW valley frequency. Most Peoria fire calls will generally be assigned to this frequency
As a general rule of thumb, most EMS (medical) calls are handled on the new digital trunked system and most fire calls are handled on the older VHS channels. Here are most of the VHS frequencies they still use:
A1 154.190 Valley wide dispatch
A2 154.250 East Phoenix
A3 154.070 West Phoenix
A4 154.280 Statewide Mutual Aid (not used much any more in the Phoenix area)
A5 153.830 NE valley
A6 154.310 NW valley
A7 157.145 Tempe
A8 153.770 South Phoenix
A9 155.670 West Phoenix
A10 151.370 Far North
Remember they can put any traffic on any frequency. As I type this they're working fires in Glendale and Surprise and both are on channel A9. If you hear them talking about K or K deck (ie: K8 or K deck 8 they're referring to the digital trunked system Talk Groups.
If you're not familiar with it, you might want to check out this web site:
https://htms.phoenix.gov/publicweb/Default.aspx They show many (but not all) of the current incidents around the valley and what annalog channel or digital talk group they're on.
