So I programmed frequencies in for this system (Peoria County STARCOM System) in my 996P2. Hearing ISP from this system. Does anyone know if the current users of the Peoria County Harris system are going to migrate to the STARCOM system, or will they remain separate? I can pick up the STARCOM system from my house, (about 30 miles north) but not from the Peoria County Harris system. Just wondering if I should keep on the lookout for new talkgroups.

They haven't switched to Starcom yet. Not sure when that will happen. My understanding is that when (if?) they switch the existing 6 simulcast sites for site 237 will go away, and the 11 Harris simulcast sites will then comprise the new Peoria Starcom simulcast site.

OK. Simulcast sites seem to add/delete frequencies and switch control channels frequently. It makes them a pain to monitor if you don't have time to research and update your radio frequently. I always try to enter all of the freqs, but Peoria County's Harris system seems to be my kryptonite. Can never keep up with them. Just checked again today, and seems all freqs are correct. Will be traveling that way on Wednesday. I guess I'll see how I did. I also have the STARCOM system in. I will be monitoring both while mobile in the Peoria area with my 996P2. We'll see how it goes...... jcook11 Thanks for the info.
To all that monitor these systems, please post here with any info. Hopefully it will help us all.
Thank you.

Last I heard they were still in contract talks with Motorola, but that was a couple months ago. At that time they were talking of starting work in the spring.

I was in Peoria on Wednesday afternoon. I was picking up both the STARCOM and Peoria County system as I was headed in that direction. When I got around Rome area, everything went h*** in a handbasket. The simulcast took its toll. Barely picked up a thing on either system.
