Peter Cooper Village change their system

I see that the Peter Cooper/Stuy Town security system is on the frequency indicated earlier, however it appears the type of system is "unknown." So I'm wondering if anyone has any update as to why I can't hear these guys talking. I'm new to the hobby so forgive errors in proper wording please. I just bought a Radio Shack 106 digital trunking scanner and the cable and software and mostly I'm muddling through figuring out how to work the radio, but it's frustrating that I can pickup the local private security. Any help here?

Hi Rick,

You are better off going to the "Scanners and Receivers" forum, and then click on the "New Users/Getting Started" thread. Once you get to understand the basics of scanning, then find a thread for your specific scanner in the "Radio Shack Scanners" thread in the very same section.

There are lots of guys there willing to help, but this, as you can see, is a thread that has only four postings since 2005, so you won't get much response here.

They operate using MOTOTRBO, which no scanner can monitor.

I stand corrected! You just got up-to-date info in this thread. But still, check out the threads I mentioned to get started learning as much as possible about scanning in general and your brand/model in particular.

There are lots of smart dudes here in RR with lots of knowledge and willing to share it.
