Peterborough Fire has fully switched all radios to DMR.

Peterborough Fire OPS1 154.250 is DMR (no longer analog) .
Sounds much better and a stronger signal.Fire calls are being dispatched through OPS1 and OPS2 from Peterborough Control on Sherbrooke Street.
If OPS1 has a fire call currently in progress, and another call is dispatched , all those units are assigned to OPS2

Did you happen to notice the Colour Code and talkgroup they use on OPS1?

I was there earlier in the week and was surprised they were still analog. Guess I missed the cutover by a few days.

I had the scanner programmed as analog conventional at the time with AUTO modulation so it displayed DMR and played the digital audio when they switched over friday , and it came through clear with good speech audio. I will have to reprogram it as a ONE-TRUNK on MODE2 and then i will submit that info to the database once i get the CC and TG.

There are using the same colour and RID's as Repeater 2/CH 2. Database has been updated. :)

But I have noticed that the power or the antenna alignment is different as the signal is coming in weaker for me, compared to the old analog repeater.

I suspect this is an IPSC system. The constant data bursts on 154.250 and 153.320 would seem to confirm it.
I caught a call earlier today that seemed to be repeated on both these frequencies.

I am still hearing paging tones and then the normal call on OPS1. Is it normal to have paging tones on DMR? This is also on both frequencies.

I also wonder because of the sites . The power reduced on 154.250 that some are reporting. The coverage area for each of the towers on both frequencies.

Also, Mike before the switchover, I was hearing those data bursts on 163.140.

Yes, many agencies use two tone over DMR.

It looks to me like 154.250, 163.140 and 153.320 form a 3 site IPSC system. All 3 repeaters have a cc of 5 and ask were carrying group 103 on slot 1. The conventional channels in the database can probably be removed and a linked conventional system created in their place once confirmed.
