Anybody know if Petersburg has gone digital recently? Ive looked at the database and it seems they are digital...Due to my lack of knowlage on the subject i cant really tell.... :( I swear around a year ago i listened to my scanner on some freq i had plugged in back around 00' and i heard police and fire on it. Of course, i erased them a week ago :(

Also, what kind of range am i looking at with my pro-91 with the rubber ant. that came with it? I got a glass mount scanner antt. as well for when im driving, any better? Ive tried to notice any diff but my serious lack in "good" freq. has limited my testing. Main reason i am curious is to know how far out a county(s) i should program in to listen to.

Side note: I thought i programmed Pburgs saftey freq. but all ive heard is school bus traffic so far.....

Any help is greatly appreciated as im trying to get into the jist of listing to radio traffic for Vol. FF!

-Thank you

Dont know about the Pburgs freqs, but if you have the same antena i do, the cellular look alike, it gets really good range mounted on a roof. i replaced the stock antena with it that came on my pro 2054

You're going to need one of the newer digital scanners to have any luck with Petersburg. I wouldn't bother with the PRO-96...it doesn't do very well with their voice modulation. I'd try GRE's PSR-500, Radio Shack's PRO-106, or one of the newer Unidens. Prince George is the last locality in your area that doesn't use digital. Even Dinwiddie is using P25 audio on much of its conventional VHF stuff.
