I need a new handheld radio that supports Project 25 Phase II.

I'd love one that blocks encrypted channels and maybe even has fancy recording abilities. (Nice to have features not required - I'd prefer a more reliable radio)

Price 800ish? Availability is important need one shipped soon.

I have always loved uniden (BTC8 and BC125AT)

I would also love one pre-programmed if possible not sure how that works. Are there any that updates the database on radio?

Thanks!

It sounds like the Uniden SDS 100 would fit your budget just fine. They update the database pretty much every week on Mondays and using the included Sentinel software, it will download the update DB to its SD card when you ask it to do such.
The SDS series do require a pretty steep learning curve but once you master it, you should be good to go.

Any suppliers you guys like? I'd rather support a community member over amazon.

SDS100 for the win...
You can't go wrong with @ScannerMasterSupport like @doctordialtone said
Same here with Scanner Master. Never had any problems.

Thank you all. Purchased the SDS100 with scannermaster

Bought an SDS100 about a month ago due to most everything around here moving to a simulcast system. I used it a couple of weeks and was sold on it. Ordered a case, spare battery and charger and earpiece. Been enjoying it greatly.
