Is there a way to tell if a talk group is Phase II TDMA? The Alabama ARCS system that I am monitoring with Pro96Com is know to have some Phase II TDMA talk groups in other areas, so I am assuming there may be some on the Huntsville Madison County system. I have seen references to TDMA in the Packet Dump, but I have no clue how to interpret it. If my scanner would stop on a Phase II TDMA talk group, what would it sound like? The reason I ask, A few times when I have seen a lot of activity in Pro96Com on unknown talk groups, I have stopped logging and put the PSR-500 back into scan mode, but hear nothing and do not see the talk group that was active in the program show up on the scanner. Then I will put the scanner back into analyze mode and will see that same talk group with activity.

Thanks for the help!

If the talkgroup is using TDMA, the frequency will be designated with either a /0 or /1 to indicate which time slot it is using. The channel number would also typically be in identifier table 2 or 3 (i.e. channel number would look something like 02-0123)
