PHI Air Medical - Carters Mountain (Albemarle County)

PHI Air Medical has a license for a repeater on 460.1125 on Carters Mountain in Albemarle County. Has anyone monitored traffic on it? I suspect this may be for the AirCare helicopters, although AirCare doesn't have a helo in the Charlottesville area.

AirCare has one in Lynchburg so maybe thats what its for ? I'll add it to my scan list as i'll be in that area for a few weeks for work,

The Lynchburg helicopter is Centra One WQML699
PHI Air Medical 463/468.9625 PL 110.9 is what I monitored a few years back, however, it may have changed.

Another heli to confirm is:
Air Care 3 WPTR866 located in Martinsville at the Blue Ridge Airport
Air Methods 453/458.025 PL 88.5

Recently I did a license search for PHI Air Medical and found a US itinerant license WQYH905 for 4 frequencies
151.5125, 158.4075, 451.8125 and 456.8125 The license showed all as simplex.

PHI also has a helicopter (Air Care 5) at the Shenandoah Valley Airport. They would certainly have access to Carter's. I have the frequency for them. I'll double check it as soon as I can, but I believe it is the one Dtscho posted.

Believe that's considered the Weyers Cave base and is indeed who uses Carter Mountain. Im in the area again this week and will monitor. Last month there was no traffic on the channel all week.

Sorry. I forgot to follow up. 460.1125 is definitely what I have for AirCare 5- Shenandoah Valley Airport.

460.1125 is definately active. I have it in the parkway zone on my radios for MVA's on the parkway.

Carilion Lifeguard has 3 helicopters. One at Smith Mountain Lake covering primarily Roanoke, one at Radford (CNRV) covering primarily NRV and one in Lexington at Stonewall Jackson Hospital. They do not have one in Martinsville.

"AirLife 1" , N136VA, Airlife VA, a Eurocopter EC 135 and "Aircare 3", N512WF, Baptist Air Care or Wake Forest, a Eurocopter EC 135
are at Blue Ridge Airport (Martinsville) (MTV) and basically at Spencer, Va. Both are dispatched from NC on VIPER.
