My daughter is marching in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade this year so we are going to be there to watch it in person. Curious as to what frequencies will be in use for both police and for parade coordination. I have a BCD 436. Any tips or ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Ppd pfd and city services should be on a events talk group I am sure the pd will use t band and possibly one of the swat groups also but swat channels are encrypted. The parade is in the central area which is the 9th and part of the 6th district area I believe. I am sure there will be a bit of action of the ppa tow group towing vehicles that are blocking the parade route etc.

Am sure that a local ham club might be also involved so you could monitor the VHF and UHF ham bands for any activity.

TV broadcast stations may also be using IFB (Interruptible Foldback) to cover the parade.

My suggestions may be a bit out in the weeds though, hi hi.
