Philly PD "Code Blue"

The "Scoop and Run" is official policy, but it is only supposed to be used for penetrating wounds (gunshot or stabbing) of the torso. Some officers will taking penetrating wounds to the arms and legs also, because they can get to the trauma center before a medic unit gets on location.

"Code Blue" is the PFD EMS dispatch term for a patient in Cardiac Arrest. Some cops may or may not know this.

Well I guess if you are not breathing, your heart will eventually stop. But I have never heard the medics call for a Code Blue when they were doing respirations only.

Well, since the term Code Blue is only used when dispatching the run I would say your argument is pointless, as there currently is not any EMS on scene doing anything, respirations included....
