Apparently the broadcast industry lobbied congress to have their broadcast axuiliary service frequencies included in the ECPA.

Does anyone know of any tv ifb scanner frequencies in the nj _/ philly area? 455.2375 is wpvi's ifb out of trenton nj, that they use every once in a blue moon. It's gone silent for now, hopefully it will be back on when they need to use it again. anyone know of any other nj _/ philly tv ifb frequencies that are used often?

There is some very good info here, especially the last post on the page:

Ok. well then, I'll be verry carefull not to monitor ifbs anymore. but here is my question. Since ifbs are illegal to monitor now, why do tv stations put it out there on the frequencies? I mean, if we hear something, it's our natural inclanation to listen to it. All the ifbs are is the broadcast audio anyway. nothing else. I've never heard anything behind the sceens or anything, just ifb audio of a live newscast every once in a blue moon.

Ok. so. Like I said before, if ifbs are illegal to listen to, why do tv stations put them out there on frequencies? This does not make sense. Also, does anyone still have any scanner tv frequencies in the nj and philly area that they could tell me about, that are actually active? Most frequencies I've programmed in are dead, due to the use of cell phones and stuff like that.
