I'm still learning how the Fire dispatch system works.

Are you saying that besides the initial automated dispatch, there is a human follow up with more details? Just sometimes or all the time?

I've heard that male voice jump in from time to time directing or redirecting crews.

Just curious. Thanks.

Units are dispatched on A1/K1, in their initial dispatch they are provided a tactical channel (K7, A7, etc) that they move to during their call for any needs that may arise such as a special call for an ambo or anything else. All channels are monitored in the alarm room by a live human dispatcher, including A1/K1. The Channel 1 operator has the option to use Samantha or to manually voice the calls. They also have the option to add in other things such as “stage for pd” or specific corners, stores, or anything else.

Ah, OK. Just to clarify a bit more: when you say they move to a tactical channel, that's all the traffic I hear on various channels (regular discussions and interactions), yes?
