Does anyone have any other frequencies for Phoenix Fire, other than the ones listed on the RWC page?
I have these programed
867.03750
867.08750a
867.11250c
867.23750
867.28750
867.31250
867.43750
867.46250
However, I still have issues with picking up their traffic. It seems to go in and out. It'll be fine for a few days, then I'll lose it for a few days. Last time this happened with Phoenix PD, it was a programming issue...so I'm just guessing that's what it is this time. Also, when I "analyze" the frequencies, I pick up traffic, just no talk groups. Any help is much appreciated!

It is not you my friend, its the great radio system that they are using. I am eye to eye with south mtn and I still have problems picking the didtal system up. I am a Loss Prevention detective in Phoenix and I have a lot of contacts with PHX PD , They also have problems with their radios at time the comms go complete digital and the dispatcher has to ask the officer to repeat thier last. When I was in Colorado for the last 9 months I had no problem picking the digital sytem as far away as 80 miles. What I suggest is : Take the p25 out of the auto mode and make it manual mode it makes a big difference. Also set the scanner on roam for the towers instead of fix towers. This way if they change towers at any given time you will be able to pick any traffic up. Also try turning the ATT on during scanning. What happens a lot is you get whats called over loading the front end the att is suppose to keep unwanted noise out but in this case it helps bring in the digital comms. I have a pro-197 also and I am in Mesa . This scanner is very powerful, During severe weather I have the scanner set up so that the S.A.M.E alert tones open the scanner up while I am scanning.

If you want to hear Phoenix K and L decks simulcast B will always have the traffic where as if you put in the other sites like south mtn or white tanks you won't hear all of the traffic. Same goes for PHX PD simulcast A will have all of the PHX PD traffic.

Back to the OP, is your scanner actually losing the control channel? The control channel shouldn't change all that often. What's in the RR DB is pretty accurate and all you should need to program in is the control channels.

Thank you both for your advice. I'm going to school to go into law enforcement, so 99% of my time is spent listening to Phoenix PD. I tried playing with the settings and put the P25 in manual for Phoenix PD, but didn't notice a big difference. What does "Manual" mean? I also played with ATT button and I also tried playing with the "Multi-Site" feature. I set it to both "Roam" and "Stat" but nothing seemed to change on any of the settings.I heard everything just as I did before. I also tried doing all of this for fire. Still nothing. I don't even have that T in the upper left corner. I'm not THAT disappointed because I mostly listen to PD. Will any of the above settings help create better listening for Phoenix Police? I've never really explored those so I know nothing about them...

What are the control frequencies for K & L or the simucast frequencies for K and L ?

Simulcast B is the main simulcast for K and L decks, some of the IR sites will also carry some of the K and L traffic when users roam to those sites.

Setting the scanner to P25 auto vs. manual shouldn't make a difference with the RWC, you can set it to manual and then go to trunking tables and set it to default or 800mhz P25. It shouldn't make a difference though since the RWC and TOPAZ send the channel table information over the control channel......just saying I can't see a reason why there would be a difference in P25 decode in manual versus auto.
