Surely you've had time to read and understand the Manual...Page 75 applies. 1) build a file into the working folder, then load it into one of the VS folders
2) build another file and load it into another VS folder
3) you can repeat the above 9 more times if you use the scatchpad for storage.

I strongly suggest you get Win96...go to www.starrsoft.com and get the software...it makes things a lot easier programming the radio. You can then save the folders that are pre-programmed onto your computer, and then load new folders into the scanner.

Check it out, dude!

Be that the case, I hope he's smart enough to join the various yahoo groups that have the files online. It seems to me that if he took the time to research his questions first, he could find most answers on his own. Personally, I'd rather find something on my own, and I ask as a last resort after I have sought out answers myself. I also recommend that anyone buying the Pro-96 spend $30 and get Win96 as well.

I concur with this recommendation. In addtion Don Starr keeps the corrected and up-to-date factory V-folders on his site. :)

Now come on guys. I think Don is just a young fella who got a new toy and like most of us when we get something new, you want it to be up and working right away , as fast as you can wthout having to do anything hard. Just turn it on and away weeeeeee go.

I think we should all help him out as much as we can for now then let him learn all about his new toy later. Once he gets Win 96 and the cable he will be playing for hours on end with it.

:sarcasm mode on:

ok children, play nicely :D

:sarcasm mode off:

for real now, he is right. we all have asked questions that were either...
a) already answered on this site or
b) "stupid" (notice the " ", i believe no question is stupid, but some have an answer thats so obvious)

in any event, we should all answer questions, or point in the right direction for the answer. if its a question that comes up more than, id say, 3 times a day, request that it be a sticky (notice the pro96 and bc296 comparison was made a sticky cause everyone would ask what the difference is, or which is the better radio).

happy scanning
