My company just installed a new conventional digital system and I bought the BDC536HP for monitoring it. I have since found that entering the information is not as easy as I expected and potentially not even possible. It is a conventional DMR system with a repeater with a color code of 3. Is monitoring this channel a possibility for me or is this scanner not capable of it?

This scanner does not have built in DMR capabilities, I don't know if any scanner does. I think you can put a discriminator tap on the scanner and then use a computer to decode the DMR transmissions. You would have to take the scanner apart and have soldering skills to do this.
