Picking Up Logan MSP: Can I At 25 mi ?

Hi,

Really new at this; have a 780.

Was wondering if there's much of a possibility of my picking up anything from Logan airport (I think Troop F) where I live which is about 25 miles due West of Logan ?

Would like to get a feeling for how possible, before i strart with the aggrivation of trying to program a fleet map for it, etc.

It depends. I could not pick them up when I lived 16 miles north of Boston. I now live 26 miles north of Boston, so my chances have not improved. Then again I do not have an outside antenna. You could try. There are a lot of hills in the way.

Troop F is on the Massport Trunked System and it has one site at the Logan Tower. It does not reach far from greater Boston because of only one repeater available to cover the Airport/Tobin Bridge and Massport Property in Charlestown/East Boston/South Boston. It is unfortunate because Troop F also patrols part of Hanscom Airfield in Bedford.

Logan

When I was living in Wakefield, MA using my BC780 I could not hear anything from Logan.... I bought a GRE Super Amp and was able to successfully recieve a strong signal using an indoor antenna. I'm now living on the South Shore near Braintree with an outdoor di-pole antenna using the same amp and have not been able to recieve Logan...
