Hi Guys,

My first post .. wow hehe A few 'home brew !" antennas from years ago .. at the moment I am renting a place and only have crappy long wire and rubby ducky's but soon I am moving and I have collected a bunch of antennas, 15 meter mast, amplifiers and rotator for my dream system.

As a general use antenna it works well but anything beyond the 118-512 range is iffy at best if the base station is more than 15mi away.

Of course it excels at the Aero band which is it's primary use.

Here is my latest project for 440. The antenna is fairly simple and cheap to build. Maybe 15 dollars.. Its not real pretty at the moment. I'm working on getting some aluminum to weld up a nice frame and reflector for it.

Here it is setup looking out the window. A little over 18 miles on 4 watts with full quieting on the repeater which the antenna is only 100' high. I'm happy with it.

Here is a picture of my Diamond Dual band with the luggage rack mount.

That is Belden 1694A and not rated for outdoor use (but it's all I had leading up to the nasty weather) no problem on the attic antennas but the outdoor stuff has to go!
It will all be replaced with 9913F7 this summer. Only their black coax is UV rated.

Hey Folks,

Hey Dave, I see you looking into a tower!. Be sure to check the Wiki as I am putting info up for the Tilt-over mast, very simple and very strong and easy on the eyes, to hold lots of antennas!.
The whole article is still under construction. Next is to start digging the hole
