Wouldn't be surprised if they go to the SRS. Would be a good idea since Madison County is going to it or has gonce to it and Stanton County is using it.

On a side no the state has awarded radios to multiple VFDs for interop via SRS.

If I remember correctly the grant was for dual band radios VHF/7/800mhz.

Also been hearing some VFDs in the northeastern part of the state doing monthly radio checks.

Good info! I thought I heard some VFD radio checks over B ROC recently. It also looks like Clarkson/Howells/Schuyler will all be on the SRS at some point. That will eliminate having separate frequencies to hear them. I didn't see Platte Center on the list to get the radios.

Hadar runs dual response calls with Norfolk on a occasional basis, mainly structure fires. Being on the same system will help.

I thought Waterloo was part of ORION?? Unless this has something to do with pretty much all of Saunders County VFD;'s getting the radios?

Waterloo does use ORION. Might be getting them for free radio or to talk with state users for incidents. Saunders will be joining ORION. Just because they were awarded radios doesn’t mean they are using them for dispatch. Just gives them access to NSRS
