Pineville NC

I just purchased a 436hp and I’m really only wanting to listen to Pineville police and fire, but I haven’t had any luck. I’ve monitored the Pineville channel but there hasn’t been any radio traffic. Does anyone know how I can hear them?

Yep, throw all 5 frequencies in there since they're designated as control channels, and program the only two talk groups in. Wonder why there's only two groups.. I wonder if they also use another system. Where do they receive their 911 calls from?

I added them to a favorite list from the database, but still get nothing. I’m not sure who they receive 911 from? I’m guessing Charlotte Mecklenburg and then they dispatch out. I’m only guessing since I can’t actually hear anything lol. Thanks for responding!

Do you see it at least registering the control channel and providing an RSSI level?

Success with getting PVPD! Thanks for the advice. I’ve added the Mecklenburg county fire/EMS and simulcast, and I hoping that’s somewhere in there is where PVFD is dispatched. Thanks again for the help.

Pineville fire is dispatched off the meck county fire/EMS channel If anyone was curious. I have the 436hp but I’m reading that the sds100 is a much better system. Was curious if anyone thought it was needed for Charlotte meck area ?

In all likelihood you would greatly benefit from the SDS scanners for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg UASI system. I live in NW Charlotte now, but was in South Charlotte near Pineville until 2 years ago. I tried all kinds of yaggi's, a discone, a paperclip, and stock antenna that came with my BCD996XT. I was missing a lot of reception until I got an SDS 200 two years ago, and have no trouble hearing any talkgroup I program into it. I'm using the back of the set antenna that came with the SDS 200, no need for any outdoor antenna.

Thanks! I was wondering why it seemed I was missing a lot of the UASI transmissions. I seem to miss the majority of the dispatch. The 436hp works, but it doesn’t seem as effective as what I expected.
