The Pirate Radio station will get replacement equipment on the 'air' faster than you can imagine.

Why spend the money on radio equipment, when you can have your own show on the Internet and no one will bother you?

If that's the same group that was "shut down" a couple of years ago, they most likely already have their new location setup and ready to go. They'll wait a few months until they think that the monitoring had ended and fire the new location up.

Ahh, but the airways are free, like OTA TV and the pirates get their advertising monies.

It's a good idea, unfortunately it is against the Law.

Great for 1 tone and 50 feet?

Maybe difficult getting advertising backing for that:)
