If I can receive pirates comms with my current setup, then I should be able to receive legitamate U.S. Military Satcom transmissions, correct?

Is there a difference in equipment/antennas needed to monitor these?

If your receiving pirates your good to go. Problem is about 99% of military satcom is digital and encrypted, so the real challenge is finding the scarce analog traffic and the ultra rare comms where one or both users are unknowingly in the clear and pass sensitive traffic.

Glad to know! Now if I can just hear some MILSATCOM transmissions "in the clear". I monitor all the frequencies that have been posted here, but so far no joy.

I'm in Ohio. Are there any specific frequencies in the East that I should be monitoring?
