I don't know if anybody does this.
I had my local police dept. channels in my bc246t when I noticed their channel 2
went silent.
Their pl was 118.8
After setting the pl to search I found they changed it to 173.8
So I set all the frequencies to search the pl's in case they change
you dont miss them.
Just a little tip.

GOD BLESS

that defeats the purpose of having a PL entered to begin with. If you set it to search all of the time then anything transmitting a PL tone will open the receiver's audio whether or not its what you want to hear. Chances of them changing it again could be very slim because each time they put a radio in the shop it costs them money. So they probably had been wanting to do that for quite some time now, and when the new fiscial year is here they allocate so many dollars to get all of their radios reprogrammed.

The reason for this would be interference from another agency on the same freq AND PL. So instead of trying to get a new lisence they just reprogram with a different PL.

Good detective work. Some of the agencies have done this in the past to weed out rouge radios that don't belong on their system. (Conventional)
