Placement of trunk freqs?

I know the BCT8 will scan trunk, and conventional freqs. in the same banks.
Does the placement of the trunk frequencies matter?
For instance, will it work better if the trunk freqs. are the first freqs. in the bank?
Or will it be all the same if they are in the middle or the end?

(I moved 2 control channels on mine from the first of bank 4, to the tail end of bank 1, and it doesn't seem to "id scan" as much.
Didn't know if the placement made the difference, or if it is just a big coincedence.)

You need to keep all the freqs and ID's to the system in the same bank.

I have them all in bank 1. There were only 2 CC's for the system. I have it set up exactly like it was in bank 4.

It just doesn't seem to trunk scan as well now, That's why I wondered if not having them at the first 2 spots of the bank made a difference, of if I was just imagining things.

Probably was a stupid question, but was curious about the reason for reduced performance. (might just be in my head)LOL

I don't know if this model works the same as the other Unidens, but all of mine seem to ignore anything after the data channel once they leave trunk mode. For example if you have a bank with channels 1 to 100, and the current control channel is in 28, then channels 29 to 100 will be skipped if the scanner enters trunk mode. When it leaves trunk mode it moves on to the next bank.

It wasn't skipping channels or anything like that, it just wasn't scanning/picking up the trunk stuff very well.

I went back and put the 2 CC's into bank 4 all by themselves, and it works great again.

It seems like it doesn't scan the trunk stuff very well unless they are in a bank all by themselves.

Isn't it supposed to scan everything together without problems?
(trunk & conventional freqs. in the same bank)

Anyone have this problem also? Any ideas on what I can do to make it work? Or is this just how it will have to be?

I have the same scanner and according to the manual, it is possible to scan both Trunk & Conv in the same bank, however, it does slow down the scanning process. How it works is it first goes through all the Id's in the scan list and then scans the conventional channels. Overall, by the time it finishes the process, you may have missed an important transmission. To play it safe, I kept them separate.
