Starting to hear quite a bit of traffic over PCSO and Atlantic LEA Ch over a small yellow plane buzzing vehicles on I-29 near the Honey Creek exit.

That "small yellow plane" that was reported is likely to be a crop duster. I remember seeing them in another part of the country. I don't know the manufacturer, but they paint all their planes yellow.

I have responded to 2 of those planes when they crashed while crop dusting. Both times the pilots walked away. Amazing. Needless to say-They both were hazmat responses.

Air Tractor 502Bs are almost always yellow. I don't think I've ever seen but one or two any other color. They're pretty fun to fly too from what I'm told. A motorist seeing one doing crop spraying near the highway would probably get themselves all worked into a lather.

Another pretty common one you'll see is the Cessna A188B Ag Truck. They're a little smaller and not nearly as fast. They are noted for being pretty rugged and able to keep you safe if you happen to ride one in as long as you're strapped in correctly, wearing your helmet, and safety gear for the chemicals you're flying. They're supposedly a rugged little bird I'm told. If I remember correctly the last time I had crop spraying done he was flying a A188B.

Yeah, the crop dusters are out all over the state right now. I've had two Air Tractors overfly my office in the last hour or so on their way south of town. Also saw one heading down the river while I was eating breakfast. They're really loud, so they're not hard to spot. We've got an operator working out of the local airport for the rest of the summer I believe.
