"A plane crashed into Assawoman Bay near the Ocean City airport on Sunday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m., according to the fire department.

An Ocean City Fire Department official confirmed five individuals were on board but suffered no injuries and have been placed on civilian vessels.

Maryland Department of Natural Resource Police and the U.S. Coast Guard also responded to scene and assisted. The cause of the crash was not immediately known."

Luckily, shallow water. On the reporting though, one source says takeoff was aborted, another says the plane was at 5,000' when a emergency was declared. I guess we need to wait for the NTSB preliminary report. Also, the state police should be the lead local agency investigating...
